Ryan Sullivan

Over the past 18 years, I have developed my practice, focusing primarily in the areas of construction law, bankruptcy, commercial litigation and real estate law. I often represent owners, general contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers relative to all phases of construction, from contract negotiation and drafting to litigation and collection. By partnering with clients at each phase of a project, from bid to closeout, I am able to reduce the obstacles to their performance, allowing them to focus on what is important: their work and bottom-line.

In the bankruptcy context I have extensive litigation experience relative to the defense and prosecution of involuntary proceedings, preference claims, objections to discharge, turnover proceedings, and motions for relief from the automatic stay. Representing individuals and corporate debtors, secured and unsecured creditors in cases under Chapters 7, 11, and 13. I enjoy the unique challenges presented by every bankruptcy case and am able to tap my well-rounded experience to provide efficient and practical solutions to the difficult problems faced by my clients.

Outside of the courtroom, I regularly counsel clients on a variety of transactional matters including purchase and sale agreements, shareholder agreements, entity formation, asset-protection, and asset-purchase agreements. From my years in litigation I have grown sensitive to the need for careful drafting, and attentive post-closing follow through.

I am a frequent lecturer before professional groups in the area of commercial collections, and a contributor to West's Bankruptcy Series Bankruptcy Exemption Manual and panelist on bankruptcy topics including 363 Sales.
